APA style to be used.

Analysis of the strong points of the paper written by David Marginson, Stuart Ogden (2005): Coping with ambiguity through the budget: the positive effects of budgetary targets on managers’ budgeting behaviours, Accounting, Organizations and Society, Vol. 30, pp.435-456

Critical analysis:

Part 1:

• Identify important strong points in the paper
• Include papers(literature) that may support your criticism
• Your argumentation needs to be strengthened with the findings or arguments from this literature

Part 2:

• Some new relevant literature that is about the topic addressed in the paper of Marginson &Ogden
• What does this new (recent) literature say about this topic?

I will upload some papers about management control that will help with the argumentation for the strong points, however I don’t have articles for Part 2.

The paper should also have reference list.

The structure should be something along the lines of:

-This is a strong point from the article:”The authors Marginson & Ogden argue that…”

-This is the argument from relevant literature that supports the strong point:” Their argumentation is also sustained by findings from author().. that states that..”

-Please be very clear about the strong points and argumentation

With regards to the slides 3 of them should present the strong points of the topic and as a foot note some arguments the relevant literature and the other 3 slides should be about the new literature with argumentation as well.

Criteria for evaluation:

The quality of the critical analysis including the use of the relevant literature( strength of argumentation, use of the literature, relevance of criticism, clearness)
