Discipline: Networking Security

Discipline: Networking Security

During this course, we will be covering a majority of the Critical Security Controls in the SANS document linked in the previous topic. The primary deliverable for this course (due during the last day of class that precedes the final) is a Prezi document showing a complete network diagram of your own design that incorporates the CSCs we cover during the course. This document should depict the equipment, networks, and connectivity necessary to implement the major parts of the CSCs. It should include not just the images of the equipment, but descriptions of the functions performed and the configurations necessary to ensure the security of the network and computers. Example: a router image should be accompanied by text describing the significant configuration elements that would ensure security for traffic coming through the router.

I suggest that you refer to the diagrams at the end of each CSC to get an idea of one way to implement the CSC. Feel free to use virtual servers for the implementation as you see fit (and appropriate). Your diagram should show VLANs, network devices, servers, and representative workstations as necessary to demonstrate the security functionality and configurations implemented as a result of the CSCs
