In chapter 1, you read about the important contributors and their contributions to the history of microbiology. Each of these individuals were vital to the progression of the study of microbes and to the understanding of how microorganisms affect the environment and human society.

Part 1: of the scientists named in your text who contributed to microbiology, which of them do you feel made the most significant contribution? Start a new discussion thread with the name of the scientist followed by your name. Explain in 1000 words why you chose this scientist.
