TOPIC: What kinds of money do you think might be in use in the U.S. in the year 2050?

Your topic summary and proposed outline of your idea for the paper is due in Module 3, a draft of the paper is due in Module 6.  Here is a checklist that you may find helpful.  

  • The objective of the assignment is to highlight a current controversy(s) within the money and banking issues.  The paper provides you an opportunity to address an issue or question, research using academic resources, and offer a conclusion based on your research – all while addressing the economic impacts that are intertwined within.
  • Some examples of key issues or questions from which to build your research paper will be provided. This list is absolutely not comprehensive, nor required. This list offers some topics. Please feel free to venture out on your own topic after discussion with your instructor whether or not it would be appropriate. Your paper must relate back to one or more of the learning outcomes for this course.
  • Paper length should be a few pages – eight to ten double-spaced pages are sufficient. Papers are graded on the quality of content, not quantity.
  • Show how the theory you’ve learned from the course and presented in the textbook applies to the issue chosen.  The analysis need not be complex but must include a written explanation and a graphical analysis similar to those used throughout the textbook.  Basically, you are just selecting the appropriate theory from the course and showing how they apply to a specific situation or issue.
  • Write a short conclusion.  This might include some predictions for the future.   

The paper should include the following:  

  • Title page
  • Insert page numbers.  A Running Head is fine but not necessary.  
  • Abstract – not required but OK if desired
  • Table of Contents – not required
  • Section Headings – required
  • Citations – cite all references in the body of the text and in the Reference list.  
  • Plagiarism – Do not copy text from another author or Web source unless it is quoted.  
  • Appendices – Not necessary but may be appropriate for raw data.
